In a grown man’s body
proper and polite
trained to be conformed
to what many think is right

“Just do it this way
it worked in the past
some fruit will be left
but it probably won’t last”

“It will hold for a day
maybe even two
enough time to get
the acknowledgment that’s due”

To beat the system
of what God has ordained
the long-term process
of leaders that’s trained

To stand in holiness
and represent the light
in the midst of darkness
to state what is right

Confronting confusion
that remains in the church
by the spirit of the world
as it continues to lurch

On the hearts and the minds
of people unknowing
never trained to see
what the Spirit is showing

Eyes that are veiled
to spiritual sight
needing the entrance
of the Word to bring light

And a lifestyle of prayer
to continue to unfold
everything that we have
that our Father has told

Is ours for the taking
if we choose to submit
repenting of our pride
before the throne to admit

Our utter dependence
on the Holy Spirit
not just in private
but for all to hear it

So we never exalt
a man or a position
but only our Savior
and Lord of commission

Who released His body
to die and then live
so it can finally receive
and finally give

The love of our God
and the Word of His power
to a hurting people
the devil wants to devour

They’re lost and dying
looking for a Savior
to change their life
not just their behavior

Something real
they already lived a lie
something you live
not something you try

Something continuous
an eternal flame
blazing forever
to never, ever be the same

An undying devotion
to my very best friend
whose always been there
for me ‘til the very end

Holy, holy, holy,
forever I will sing
as I cast my crown
at the feet of My King!
